There are myriad acne alternative treatments being sold today, all purport to clear up your skin pronto. Many websites a full of pages of testimonials from people who have used the treatments and been cured. And some of them have been. The trouble is that an acne alternative that works for one doesn’t work for another.

No matter what the claims of the various people who sell skin care products, facials, and nutritional regimens to clear up your skin, nobody knows until a particular treatment is tried on an individual whether it’s going to do much good. Unfortunately, that means for most of us, it’s hit or miss.

Once you’ve gotten fed up with the antibiotics, topical treatments and Accutane offered by your dermatologist, where do you begin? Or, maybe you never wanted to go that route in the first place. Whatever drove you to seek a nontraditional acne alternative, you have to begin somewhere.

First, consult widely. Chances are very good that you know several people who have had acne and cleared it up or who have it now and are in the process of clearing it up. Learn from their experience. Take notes. Then try some of the things that have worked for them. Hope for the best, but realize that it might take some time before you hit on the combination of products, treatments and lifestyle changes that will help you the most.

Another thing is that some acne alternative products containing the same basic ingredients vary greatly in price. Learn what the active ingredients are in products and try the less expensive versions of them before you pay for the more costly ones.

It’s also a great idea to seek the help of professionals. Naturopaths have regiments of vitamins, herbs and gentle cleansers that can work wonders. The very expensive prescription medicine Accutane is actually derived from plain old Vitamin A, and under a naturopath’s care, you can take high doses of Vitamin A for predetermined periods, along with other vitamins and herbs and potentially clear up your skin without the side effects of Accutane, which, if you are female, can include birth defects in your children should become pregnant while taking the drug.

A promising acne alternative is light therapy. For many, acne is cleared up with the application of red and blue ultraviolet light for a set amount of time each day. It’s possible to purchase a device online that safely emits this type of light. They cost in the range of $200. This is a less expensive alternative to try before going to an esthetician who has similar, more powerful equipment. The truth is it’s likely to take some time before you find what works for you. The trick is to not give up. Keep trying until you find your solution.

As we get older our skin changes, and with those changes we wonder, What’s happening to my skin? As adults, we believe we shouldn’t be experiencing the torments of acne as we did as a teenager, or we notice brown spots that suddenly appear out of nowhere. We also worry about those days gone by when we used baby oil as tanning lotion. Here are the most common questions adults are asking their dermatologists.

Acne

Why am I experiencing acne now that I’m older?
Acne usually occurs on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders. Adult acne is caused by a combination of several factors: hormones leading to excess oil secretion, faulty closing of the hair duct, and infection.

Acne develops when a sebaceous gland, which is connected to a pore and contains a fine hair, becomes blocked with sebum, an oily substance made by the sebaceous glands that normally empties onto the skin’s surface through the opening of the pore. If a pore becomes clogged and prevents the sebum from reaching the surface of the skin, bacteria that normally lives on the skin begins to grow in the pore. These bacteria produce chemicals and enzymes and attract white blood cells that cause inflammation. When the wall of the clogged pore breaks down sebum, dead skin cells and bacteria seep into the nearby skin, leading to pimples.
Here is a list of other situations that may cause a breakout:

1.	Women: two to seven days before their menstrual period begins
2.	Friction caused by leaning on or rubbing the skin
3.	Pressure from bike helmets, backpacks, or tight collars
4.	Environmental irritants, such as pollution and high humidity
5.	Squeezing or picking at blemishes
6.	Hard scrubbing of the skin

How can I treat my acne?

Although there are many remedies you can purchase at the local drugstore, consult your dermatologist first to determine what type of acne you have. He may then prescribe a medication specifically to meet your needs. The biggest breakthrough in acne treatment has been the development of topical retinoic acid, a form of vitamin A. Other acne products consist of the following ingredients:

1. Azelaic acid cream
2.	Alpha-hydroxy acids (including glycolic acid, lactic acid, and gluconic acid)
3.	Benzoyl peroxide
4.	Topical antibiotics (gels, lotions, and solutions)
5.	Antibiotic pills
6.	Birth control (for women)
7.	Accutane or Sotret for severe acne (women who choose this treatment must be on some type of birth control)

Aside from medications, keep in mind that a healthy lifestyle can also prevent breakouts, such as: getting plenty of sleep, drinking a lot of water, and eating a balanced, healthy diet.

Also consider cleaning items in your home that may be contain germs, such as: the phone, dirty towels, pillowcases and sheets

Skin Types

What type of skin do I have? There are six categories of skin types:
1.	Dry
2.	Somewhat dry
3.	Normal
4.	Somewhat oily
5.	Oily
6.	Combination.

Skin type, which is determined by the amount of oil secretion, is hereditary. The different areas in the skin that produce oil and the amounts of oil produced are based on genetics.

Some women classify themselves as having sensitive skin. Overexposure to the elements or overuse of products can lead to skin allergies or sensitivities. To avoid this, try to minimize the number of products you use and try to find products designated for sensitive skin whenever possible.

Hyperpigmentation

What are these brown spots on my skin?
Hyperpigmentation comes in many forms, including freckles, melasma, liver spots, sun spots, acne scars or wounds. Hyperpigmentation results from too much abnormal melanin (dark brown to black pigment occuring in the hair, skin and iris of the eyes) within the superficial skin cells. The main causes of increased melanin production are acute sunburn and chronic sun exposure. The second most common cause is hormonal change as a result of pregnancy, oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy. Another cause of hyperpigmentation is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that occurs after a wound or blemish heals.

Cleansing

How many times a day should I wash my face?
Cleansing is essential for your skins long-term health, however, cleansing can strip your skins protective oils that act as natural barriers to the elements. Washing your face any more than twice daily can lead to dry, irritated skin. When cleaning your face, use tepid water and a gentle cleanser if you have sensitive skin. If you have oily skin, do not be tempted to wash your face when it gets oily throughout the day. Try using oil blotting papers instead.
Here’s a clear way to cleanse your face:

1.	Choose a cleanser that is formulated for your skin type;
2.	wash your hands before you cleanse your face; 3.	splash your face with warm water (hot water will stimulate and expand facial blood vessels, which can give you a flushed appearance);
4.	work the cleanser into a lather, then gently massage it into your skin in a circular motion with your fingertips do not forget your hairline and neck;
5.	remove the cleanser by splashing your neck and face with warm water;
6.	blot your face with a clean towel (don not rub your face, it could cause irritation);
7.	dampen a cotton ball in toner or Witch Hazel;
8.	skim over your neck and face to remove any trace of cleanser you might have missed; and
9.	apply your favorite moisturizer.

Skin Cancer

What causes skin cancer?
There are three main types of skin cancer:
1. Basal cell carcinoma
2.	Squamous cell carcinoma
3.	Melanoma

Basal cell and squamous cell cancers make up 95% of all skin cancers and are highly curable when treated early. Melanoma, made up of abnormal skin pigment cells, called melanocytes, is a serious form of skin cancer and causes 75% of all skin cancer deaths. Left untreated, it can spread to other organs and is difficult to control.

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is the number one cause of skin cancer, and UV light from tanning beds is just as harmful. Exposure to sunlight during the winter months puts you at the same risk as exposure during the summertime.

Excessive and unprotected sun exposure causes basal cell and squamous cell skin cancer, while episodes of severe sunburns, usually before age 18, can later cause melanoma. Other less common causes are repeated X-ray exposure, scars from burns or disease and occupational exposure to certain chemicals.

The easiest way to a perfect haircut is with clippers. It gives you maximum control for perfect results. The clipper adapts to the contours of the head, giving you super control and perfect results every time. Eight length settings are normal and are integrated into the translucent comb for a wide range of styles and length.

BABYLISS has quiet a sampling of both home and professional hair clippers, as do ANDIS and OSTER.

As for Professional Hair Clippers lets just run the gamete of them:

Wahl Predator Hair Clippers are the top of the range men’s clippers. The Wahl Predator is the clipper of choice among the best professional barbers and hairdressers. Most clippers use a shunt motor and the Wahl Predator clippers can be used daily and last for years. They are used for cutting over a comb. However, while they perfect for use on another person, they are not a great self-cut hair clipper.

BaByliss Forex Cord/Cordless Clipper is another stand out. It has a detachable ceramic blade, 5 position cutting control, chrome-plated front housing and 3 double-sided comb attachments. It stays sharp, stays cool and best of all it can be used as a cordless clipper.

Another source in locating the best professional grade hair clipper is to ask your barber or hairdresser. Not only will they give you the history of their findings on the best hair clipper, but also they can tell you what clipper works best on your hair for the style you wear.

Now to run over just a few Home Hair clippers:

The Andis Home Clippers Kit is a complete hair cutting kit with a powerful, magnetic motor hair clipper and adjustable, high quality stainless steel blades. Everything needed is included.

The Oster Classis Clipper operates quiet and cool and the powerful Universal Motor has maximum power for cutting through thick, thin, course, wet, damp or dry hair. It operates quite and cool. The kit includes everything.

If using an electric trimmer at home for a child under the age of 5, be sure to talk to the child about the tool first. Show it to them, let them her it buzz. Also be sure that the person using the trimmer knows how to use it before attempting to trim a child’s hair.

When talking to the child about a hair cut, avoid using the word cut. Use the word trim. Make sure they understand that trimming the hair does not hurt. Try to finish the job in 15 minutes or less, especially when working with children under 5 years old. Children of that age tend to have short attention spans. Make it quick but be careful. Happy Clipping.

Central Florida lakes are very popular among fishermen and people who want to experience nature on their vacations. Take a few days of your trip to enjoy all this area has to offer. This is a perfect way to relax after spending a few hectic days in the crowded theme parks.

Fishing in Central Florida Lakes

The lakes in central Florida offer many great spots for fishing. This combined with the great weather allows you to fish all year round. The large mouth bass is the best known and most popular fresh water fish in Florida. The central lakes are known for large bass and trophy sized fish are routinely found in these waters.

The Bass World Lodge on St. Johns River is a very good spot for large fish. Lake Okeechobee is a very large lake in the middle of the state. The name means big water in the language of the Seminole Indians. The name is very fitting for this particular body of water. The lake is thirty seven miles long and thirty miles wide. In most areas, the lake is ten feet deep. A large number of bass are found here. There are more fish caught here weighing over ten pounds than any other lake in central Florida.

Lake Toho is the most popular lake in the Kissimmee chain. This is a shallow lake that is about 18,800 acres of water. The aquatic vegetation in the lake offers abundant food for fish. This makes good spawning grounds and allows for plenty of fish. The fish grow quite large with the abundant food supply. A fishing tournament is held here each year in the fall.

The bass is most abundant during the spawning season. This occurs between December and April of every year. During this time, fish weighing from eight pounds all the way up to the high teens can be caught in the lakes around this part of the state.

If you are planning to fish on your trip, there are some things you will need. You will need a Florida fishing license. These can be purchased at most bait or tackle shops in the state. The weather tends to be hot and the sun is strong, so you will need protection. Be sure to bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Wear light weight, comfortable clothing to help keep cool in the hot weather. Bring along a rod, tackle and a camera to capture a picture of the big one.

Guided fishing tours are available at most large lakes. These can be half day or full day trips. The rates for the tours vary according to the company and time of year. Reduced rates are available for larger parties. Some guided tours provide tackle. Be sure to ask when you book the tour.

State Parks near Central Florida Lakes

The state park system in Florida is one of the largest in the country. There are over twenty that are not far from the downtown Orlando area. Many are located near large lakes as well. Some of the closest parks to the downtown area include: Wekiwa Springs State Park and Tosohatchee State Reserve.

The proximity of the parks allows you to experience nature, while staying close to the theme parks. You will find wildlife, vegetation and native birds. A variety of animals call the state parks home. Some of the animals you may encounter include: alligators, turtles, river otters, raccoons, bobcats, black bears, foxes and deer. A variety of birds can be found in the parks as well. Bald Eagles, ospreys, turkey, owls, hawks and sand hill cranes are often found in state parks.

If you do not have time constraints then choosing last-minute reservation deals will be the best option if you want to find cheap airfares. Sometimes you are required to travel on a very short notice, in these cases buying a last-minute deal online will save you a lot of money. Lets find out how to find such deals online.

Last-minute deals are offered by most of the airlines in order to sell all their tickets for a particular flight. Mostly they advertise such deals on their websites. Some airlines hire consolidators who in turn try to locate target customers and sell them tickets at very low rates. You have to be a member of one such online consolidator website in order to benefit from this opportunity.

Sometimes last-minute deals are offered only at particular days (for example weekends) and only for a few destination locations. You have to check these websites out to see if your location is listed on the special offers list. If you cant find one good deal at a particular website you can search on other websites as well. There are so many travel websites out there that sometimes it becomes confusing and difficult to choose one of them. But of course spending a little time online will help you see which ones of them are suitable for your location, budget and travel dates.

If you are in hurry then driving to the nearest airport and checking for last-minute reservation deals will prove to be useful. Remember that last-minute deals are offered anywhere between 3 hours to 14 days before the flight. So it does not really mean that if you are approaching the airport a little earlier than last minute, you cant get a good deal. Therefore, it is better to check on the websites first before booking.

Most of these deals require that you book 2 weeks in advance. In addition to this, you are sometimes also required to choose a deal that includes hotel and car in the package. These last-minute deals often let you save up to 70% of your airfare and other travel expenses. Such deals sell out very fast, within hours of their first announce, so do not waste time if you have planned to avail such an opportunity. Remember that all packages offered by an airline are listed at their website, so do not think that you might get a special reserved package just by arriving at the airport before your flight.

If you are looking for a special last-minute deal for a holiday trip, such as for skiing or going to play golf, then narrow down your search or use the keyword search facility offered by these websites. Last-minute packages do not normally include individual tickets for airline travel or hotel reservations. As already mentioned, you will have to buy the whole package including airfare and hotel accommodation and sometimes including car as well. So plan your trip accordingly so that you can benefit fully from these offers.

Wouldn’t it be nice to get away from it all every day? If you read the papers and watch the news, you may see a new trend in living where people flock to busy downtown areas. Cooped up in high rise condos, people walk to work, shopping, and dining. Convenient, yes, but eventually such a lifestyle can become confining, especially if you are not conditioned to think small as you live large.

If you are looking for a change in scenery, look no further than the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Situated along the northeastern coast, bordering the Chesapeake Bay, the Outer Banks of Currituck and Dare counties offer a wealth of opportunity for work and play. Every day can be a vacation when you live on the beach.

Need convincing? Here are just a few of the myriad of reasons why the Outer Banks is for you.

1) Seclusion Without Isolation

It is true that the Outer Banks are a popular vacation destination during the summer. Attractions like the Wright Brothers memorial, the Gravedigger, and the Whalehead Club entice visitors as much as the sandy beaches. However, if you live in the Outer Banks, you don’t have to feel put out by guests. Peak tourism encompasses mainly three to five months of the year, and even then there is plenty of room for everybody. What’s more, there are nice spots in Currituck known only to locals, so you can still get away from it all when you really need to!

If you think you’re going to miss the big city life, there’s no need to worry. The Outer Banks are a short distance from the Virginia Beach/Norfolk metropolitan area, as well as only three hours from Raleigh, North Carolina. The proximity can make for some great weekend trips, and you’ll be home in time for supper.

2) Agreeable Weather Year Round

One advantage to living in the South is the weather. Though the Outer Banks are further north than most beaches, average temperatures throughout the year are still pleasant. Winters may sees high temperatures into the fifties, while the summer months are not too blistering. If you dislike snow, this is definitely one place to be regardless of the season.

3) A Sportsman’s Paradise

The Outer Banks is not limited to water sports and beach fun. Golf enthusiasts have six courses in Currituck County alone to choose from, including the Currituck Club, one of the highest ranked courses in the state. For extreme sports lovers, the skatepark in Maple draws many skateboarders and fans.

Fishing, too, is a popular pastime in the Outer Banks all year long, with deep sea charters available, and the Coinjock Marina open to pier fishing. The Charles Kuralt Trail provide ample opportunity for hiking, birdwatching, and just appreciating the great outdoors. When you live in the Outer Banks, you will never get bored.

4) Eat, Drink, and be Merry

Contrary to belief about resort areas, not everything closes when the tourists leave. The Outer Banks offers many seafood restaurants, with local catches being the special of every day. Locals feast on blue crabs in seasons, succulent sea bass, and delicious low country delights. A trip to Knotts Island can yield quite a bounty of peaches, too. For a real treat, the annual summer peach festival lets you enjoy the fruit in a variety of dishes.

Wine lovers will also enjoy trips to the area vineyards, including Moonrise Bay for regular tastings.

It’s delicious, exciting, and always inviting. The Outer Banks is a popular tourist attraction, yet also a great place to live.

Surprisingly, timeshare has been in existence as a concept since the 1960s. A ski resort owner in France decided that owning a set amount of time in a resort each year was a much more practical way to have a holiday than renting. Over time his idea became popular, and the timeshare concept has steadily grown in popularity ever since, particularly in the USA.

Why do people buy and use timeshares? When you buy a timeshare, you become owner a tiny part of the property, and for many people they like the feeling of security and ownership that gives them. Maintenance and other ownership costs are split among all the property owners, and generally the owners will combine to hire a professional manager to take care of the resort.

Once you own timeshare, you’re guaranteed to have that amount of time in the resort each year, which can be a big plus if it’s a very popular resort. When the resort’s a little quiet, they may offer extra weeks to owners at a much cheaper rate than normal rental weeks. The biggest benefit for most people, however, is that you can exchange your own week at your resort for a week at an entirely different resort. This is great if you don’t really want to vacation in the same place every year. You can exchange into resorts all over the world, which is an enormous range of places and climates to choose from. So it will take a long time to run out of places you’d like to visit.

Timeshares also offer a quality vacation. Many timeshare resorts are of the highest quality, incorporating luxury features within the accommodation itself, and many extra resort facilities such as tennis courts and swimming pools. The variety is astonishing, and I’ve always been impressed with the resorts I’ve visited, both in terms of quality and facilities. Even in the short time I’ve owned a week of timeshare, I’ve stayed in a luxury Hawaiian beachside apartment, a chalet in the Canadian Rockies, by a peaceful lake in New Zealand and beautiful Australian bush setting.

Sometimes, a timeshare resort will set up an agreement with other timeshares, which means you get access to cheap weeks at the other resorts as well. If you find you don’t want to use your week one year, you can let family or friends use it. All you need to do is pay the annual maintenance fee. There are timeshare resorts available all over the USA, so you should be able to find one relatively close by. You can usually arrange a free tour, or even stay for the weekend at a reduced rate if you’re thinking of buying a week at the resort. During your stay it’s a good idea to talk to other owners and get their feedback. Timeshares can be a wonderful vacation option, so do your research and make sure you buy wisely, if you decide a timeshare is right for you.

So you’re going to France for your next vacation. You have picked a location, organised your travel, and booked your accommodation. That is the easy part of the “where” and the “how.” The trickiest part of planning and enjoying your holiday comes next when you need to tackle the “what” issue. That is what are you going to see and what are you going to do. Please do not even think the word “everything”.
Tourists often mistakenly schedule every hour of every day in advance to ensure they see every French chateau, abbey and vineyard. If this is your inclination our advice is don’t go. You will be as stressed as if you never left work so you might as well stay there and earn more money.

If you go with a to-do list of “famous sights,” you will come home with a lot of beautiful pictures but with no real emotional connection to where you have been. You will look photos of various chateaux and not be able to distinguish which one was which. Your holiday will be one chateau blur. You’ll have spent your entire time hurtling from one famous chateau or abbey or rather than soaking up the significance of that chateau, abbey you toured in a nanosecond.

Please do not be a speed tourist forever intent and acting possessed determined to get yet another tick in a box on their must see list. Never see more than two chateaux in a day and do not do more than three days of your vacation (ideally spaced out) chateaux hopping.

You probably selected France as your destination in order to escape the hurried pace of your normal live. So what you need to do is to slow down a bit and enjoy life at another pace. This way you can return home feeling rested and rejuvenated. Remember you are on holiday and you are not trying to set any records. Leisurely drink in the scenery and the culture and sample some of the acclaimed local wine whilst enjoying a picnic.

If you are renting a chateau or a villa, set aside some time to just hang out there and relax. Often you see groups of families who rent a chateau or a villa together busy traipsing all over the countryside ticking all of the boxes on someone’s overly optimised list of must see sites and must do activities. Some poor person got the task and wanted to make sure no one could later complain that they missed something.

Always remember most people travel to France for the experience that is unique and totally different from their everyday American English, or Antipodean existence. Find yourself a little cafe, bistro, or a pub. Sit down. Order something. Listen to the locals chatting. Talk to a stranger even if it is in Franglais. Smell that freshly baked bread. Savour that glass of wine. Relax you are on holiday.

And if you miss something important – no problem. It is the perfect excuse to come back again for another relaxing holiday another time.

Sacramento, the capital city of California is often mistaken for a sleepy little town, but it has a lot to offer visitors. Nestled in a peaceful valley of beautiful rivers and leafy canopies, Sacramento is a cosmopolitan junction of interesting sights, restaurants and burgeoning nightlife. With year round pleasant weather and virtual cornucopia of art, Sacramento has become a tourist paradise. With its plethora of luxurious villas, the beautiful capital city of California attracts the rich and affluent. It has an extensive range of historic and educational sites that can entertain people from all walks of life.

Sacramento has a number of museums, historical parks and monuments, thereby making it one of the most attractive holiday spots. Some of them are as follows:

Old Sacramento State Historic Park: The Old Sacramento State Historic Park is a part of the Old Sacramento Historic District. Its history dates back to the years of the California Gold Rush. This park is located downtown and it is quite easy to reach there through freeways. You can easily take Interstate 5 to the J Street exit and follow the signs to reach to the place. It offers visitors with a number of covered parking lots, at reasonable rates.

Old Sacramento: Old Sacramento, popular for the gold rush offers a number of museums, restaurants, entertainment venues and a number of interesting shops. It is a National Registered Landmark and a 28-acre State Historic Park situated in the downtown Sacramento.

California State Military Museum: It is located at 1119 Second Street in the Old Sacramento State Historical Park. It is just a few minutes away from the State Capital, the California State Railroad Museum and a number of museums, parks and other tourist attractions. Governor Pete Wilson opened this museum to the public in 1991 and it is the official military museum and historical research center of the State of California. Governor Arnold Schwarznegger finally amended the Government Code on 13 July 2004, thereby making the museum the official military museum of the state.

Apart from these attractions, Sacramento wine touring also fascinates people. It serves as a great way to get to know about the different kinds of wines. Taking a wine tour in a limo would be one of the best combinations of luxury and style. On visiting the exquisite vineyards and wineries, you can experience the wine tasting sessions, in the company of some of the best wine experts in the world. Besides the world famous Napa Valley wines, you can also visit the local Foothill Winery that produces some of the classy vintages.

To add to your enjoyment in Sacramento, limo services are available in abundance. These services are suitable for almost every occasion, ranging from weddings to birthday parties and wine tours. The services offer great comfort and luxury to customers at reasonable prices. You can make your choice for the type of limo and amount of time you would like to spend at one sight. The complete package would not cost you much and generally depends on the model of limousine chosen, distance traveled in the rental limo and the day of the week.
